Dr. Rahul Damodar has joined hands with the vision of Hontrel as Engineering Director from Feb 2023. He takes responsibility on engineering design, including variety of municipal water, recycled water (ZLD), process water, wastewater and ultrapure water related projects involving initial tender review, process design, detail engineering and costing. Apart from this he has engaged in resource management and team building. He has done his PhD and master’s in chemical engineering from IIT Madras with specialization in water and wastewater engineering field and B Tech in chemical engineering from Mumbai University. He has a rich experience of over 18 years in R & D, Process Design, Process Execution and Commissioning. His core interest in membrane technology and biological wastewater system design. He is technically strong in providing valuable and cost-effective solutions to customers. He is having working experience in national and international companies and teams. Prior to this he worked as Process Manager at Evoqua Water technology ( Chennai), as Project Manager at Konark Group ( Mumbai), as a R&D head at Centre for membrane technology (Taiwan) and as Trainee at Hiyoshi Corporation (Japan). He has published several research papers in national and international journals.

Palani is the Engineering Director of Hontrel Technologies. Prior to Hontrel, he held a Mechanical Engineering Manager role at Evoqua Water Technologies and a Lead Mechanical Engineer at WEG and GE, he has also worked as a CAE Engineer with Valeo and Parametric Consultancy Services. He works globally and has a domain expertise which includes Water & Wastewater treatment, Oil & Gas, Power, Automobile with geographies spanning USA, UK, EUROPE, APAC, & INDIA. He has a diversified experience in engineering and management, with more than 20 years of extensive experience in team building and management, project management, proposal engineering, process and detail mechanical engineering, piping design, order execution and delivery, new product development, standardization of products, product engineering life cycle maintenance, cost reduction of products, design of rotating machines, static equipment design, structural engineering, computer aided engineering (FEA/CFD), and CAD data management (PDM/PLM). Palani earned his bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Bharathiar University and a Master’s degree in Computer-Aided Mechanical Design from Sathyabama University.
